How it is calculated
tail = indirect spend × tail %price leakage = tail × price gap. The gap is the saving missed by not comparing quotes: 5.0 points with email and spreadsheets, 2.5 with a basic ERP workflow and 0.5 with a platform or managed service.process leakage = POs × (hours per PO − outsourced hours) × hourly cost + onboardings × hours per onboarding × hourly cost.
